Moneris Checkout

Moneris Checkout is Moneris' hosted payment page. Customers enter their card details on Moneris' servers, so card data never touches your site. This reduces your PCI compliance work.

What it supports

  • Card payments on a page hosted by Moneris
  • Payment options set up in your Moneris Checkout profile, such as 3-D Secure, AVS, CVD and digital wallets
  • The classic checkout and the block checkout

Moneris Checkout does not save cards, so it does not support subscriptions.

Before you start

You need the Store ID and API Token from your Moneris account. You also need a Checkout ID from a Moneris Checkout profile. Create the profile first (see below).

Settings

Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Moneris Checkout.

  • Enable/Disable: turns the payment method on or off
  • Title and Description: the text customers see at checkout
  • Store Id and API Token: from your Moneris account
  • Checkout ID: the ID of your Moneris Checkout profile
  • Statement Descriptor: what customers see on their card statement
  • Sandbox: test mode. Turn it off for live payments.
  • Logging: saves debug messages to the log. Turn it on when you are troubleshooting.

Payment options on the hosted page, such as 3-D Secure, AVS, CVD and digital wallets, are set up in your Moneris Checkout profile in the Merchant Resource Center, not in the plugin.

Creating a Moneris Checkout profile

Create your profile in the Merchant Resource Center (MRC), using the test MRC for sandbox and the production MRC for live payments.

  1. Open the MRC and log in
  2. Go to Moneris Checkout: select Moneris Checkout Config
  3. Create a profile

Then work through the profile settings:

  1. Checkout type

    • Use Moneris Checkout for the complete set of online payment forms
    • I have my custom order form and want to use Moneris simply for payment processing (Recommended)
  2. Multi-currency: turn on the currencies you sell in

  3. Payment settings: payment methods, charge or authorization and fraud tools

  4. Branding and design: your logo and colours

  5. Order confirmation

    • Use Moneris
    • Use Own Page (Recommended)
  6. Email communication: which emails Moneris sends and what they say

Copy the profile's Checkout ID into the plugin settings.

Logs

With Logging turned on, the log is under WooCommerce → Status → Logs, source wpheka-gateway-moneris-pro-mco.
