Installation

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin.
  2. Search for WC Backorder Split.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

That's all. There are no settings. The plugin starts splitting new orders straight away.

Before your first split

Only products that allow backorders can be split. For each product you sell on backorder:

  1. Open the product and go to Product data > Inventory.
  2. Tick Track stock quantity for this product and set the quantity.
  3. Set Allow backorders? to Allow, but notify customer or Allow.

For variable products, set this on each variation, or on the parent product when the parent manages stock for all its variations.

Check it works

Place a test order for more than you have in stock. After checkout you should see two orders on WooCommerce > Orders: the original one, and a new one with the Backordered status. Each has a note pointing to the other.

The count shows on WPHEKA > Backorder Split too.
