FAQ
Why wasn't my order split?
Check that:
- the product allows backorders (Product data > Inventory);
- the customer reached the order confirmation page;
- some of the order was in stock. If nothing was, the order gets the Backordered status instead of splitting;
- the order wasn't added in the admin. Only checkout orders are split.
Errors are logged under WooCommerce > Status > Logs, source wc-backorder-split.
Can I split an order by hand?
No. The plugin splits orders automatically at checkout. You can set any order to Backordered with the Change status to backordered bulk action.
Does the customer pay shipping twice?
No. Since 2.4.0 the backorder order keeps the shipping method at no extra cost. See How splitting works.
Does it change the payment?
No. The payment stays on the original order. The backorder order copies the payment method and transaction ID for reference.
Is it compatible with High-Performance Order Storage?
Yes, and with WordPress posts storage.
Why don't other plugins' notices show on the plugin page?
Since 2.4.1 the page under WPHEKA > Backorder Split keeps notices from WordPress and other plugins off the page, so nothing appears above the header and then jumps into place. Those notices still show on the Dashboard and every other admin screen.
